MASPETH, Queens (PIX11) — Investigations are ongoing into two fires that injured multiple people in Maspeth on Monday night.

The fires were reported at 60-92 Flushing Avenue and 66-64 Grand Avenue at around 9:12 p.m.

Police say responding officers were informed that an unidentified woman started both fires. The suspect was located and taken into custody.

Police say a 26-year-old man suffered injuries to his finger as he was trying to escape through a window.

Another individual, a 27-year-old woman, suffered leg injuries after she jumped from a second-floor window. EMS transported the woman to a local hospital in stable condition.

One firefighter sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The cause of the fires remains under investigation.
