NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — With temperatures getting warmer, it’s time to cool off with the annual Free Cone Day.
The yearly giveaway of free ice cream returns on Tuesday at participating Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops around the world from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Ice cream lovers will be able to get free scoops to their hearts’ content by joining the line as much as they’d like on Free Cone Day, Ben & Jerry’s announced.
This year, the ice cream company is trying to give away 1 million free scoops to best its record from the year before.

“Free Cone Day is all about our fans. It’s our way of saying thank you with an international moment of togetherness,” said Ben & Jerry’s CEO Jochanan Senf in a statement.
This year marks 47 years for the annual tradition that celebrates the anniversary of Ben & Jerry’s.
