This spring is all about Anne Hathaway’s fashion. While our April 2026 cover star has spent the last few weeks promoting The Devil Wears Prada 2—in everything from a fringe Schiaparelli set to a cerulean sweatshirt that winked to her original DWP film—now, she’s switching into a different mode.

On Monday afternoon, Hathaway attended a screening in New York City for her new A24 musical drama Mother Mary, which gets its official wide release on April 24. In the movie, Hathaway portrays the titular pop singer, “Mother Mary,” and based on her latest look, it seems she’s taking a page out of the pop-star dressing book.

At the Metrograph screening, Hathaway wore a translucent, voluminous dress, which was custom-made by Lever Couture.

The gossamer design was composed of coiling layers of tulle, which floated around Hathaway’s body like a cloud, and she paired it with metallic silver heels from Christian Louboutin, as well as jewelry from Bulgari.

Of course, this sort of extravagant dress is the type of design that a high-fashion pop star like Lady Gaga might wear on the carpet, and it seems as if Hathaway is leaning into a bit of diva method dressing as she kicks off the Mother Mary press tour. (In fact, Gaga has actually worn this brand on a number of occasions, and other pop singers have turned to the house for notable red-carpet looks too—like Lisa at the Emmys, and Ariana Grande on the Wicked press tour.)

It’s clear Hathaway and her stylist, Erin Walsh, have been doing their homework. If only the actor had a movie coming out every month.
