1. Outgoing SU chancellor Syverud announces brain cancer diagnosis

The FBI and the Binghamton Police Department are now offering an additional $50,000 for any information leading to an arrest in the murder of Aliza Spencer nearly four years after the child was shot and killed.

3. New York state electricity prices rank 6th highest in the nation, data says

The data showed the state’s average residential electricity price reached 28.4 cents per kilowatt-hour in the month of January, 11 cents higher than the national average. Prices rose 3.6% from December and were up 12% year over year, the data found.

4. Watertown City School District budget proposal has highest tax levy increase in 10 years

The Watertown City School District’s proposed spending plan this year comes in at $112 million, and it brings with it a 2.5% tax levy increase, the highest in 10 years.
