UPPER WEST SIDE (PIX11) —The CEO of the Anti-Defamation League said Wednesday, “We are facing the greatest surge of antisemitism we’ve ever seen.”
Jonathan Greenblatt made the comment during a Town Hall on Wednesday night at the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue on the Upper West Side.
Before the event, Greenblatt told PIX11 News, “In this moment, we need all of our leaders, in particular our mayor, to stand up and speak out with clarity, demonstrate moral leadership.”
Mayor Mamdani’s Office did not answer our response for comment.
The ADL said there were 976 antisemitic incidents in all of New York City in 2024. The NYPD statistics for the first quarter in 2025 and 2026 show Hate Crimes against Jewish New Yorkers were higher than any other group, including Hispanics and Muslims.
