SARTORIAL SURPRISE: On the heels of its first boutique in Milan, luxury sustainable fashion brand J.Cricket is headed to New York City. The brand’s second New York City pop-up will open within Phillip Lim’s store on 48 Great Jones Street, Thursday to Saturday.
J.Cricket’s founder is Jimin Lee, a South Korean-born fashion veteran who held several positions in retail. She worked at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City and moved to Asia in 1994 to take a position as general merchandise manager and fashion director of Joyce Boutiques in Hong Kong. In 2003, Lee established Translatio in Shanghai, forging partnerships with international fashion brands to develop their retail footprint in mainland China. She started designing in 2018 and later opened J.Cricket’s headquarters on Corso Venezia 44, at the heart of the Italian fashion capital.
J.Cricket told WWD on Tuesday that it will bring its bestsellers in new limited-edition fabrics. It will also introduce organza for the first time with new pieces, fit for daywear and or evening. Known for its sartorial style, the brand ultimately brings forth wardrobe staples and limited-edition pieces made from surplus luxury fabrics. “As always in keeping with our design ethos, using beautiful luxury fabrics, unique tailoring, allowing the wearer to live and travel stylishly, with comfort and ease,” Lee said.

This is the second New York City pop-up. The first event took place in 2024 and was also at the Phillip Lim store on Great Jones Street.
