QUEENS, NY — A woman was killed, and two firefighters were injured after a fire in Queens on Monday, the FDNY said.

The blaze started at a home on 26th Avenue in Queens around 5:10 a.m.

Around seventy firefighters responded to the scene. An 85-year-old woman was found in the home and taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

The fire was put under control around 6:37 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
