Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly changed course on their wedding plans, with new reports indicating the couple will marry in New York City on July 3.
According to The New York Post, save-the-dates have already gone out to guests, locking in the date just ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
The July 3 wedding is expected to take place in New York, a city that has long been central to Swift’s life and public image. Swift owns an extensive property portfolio in Tribeca, including a duplex created from two adjoining penthouses, the next-door townhouse, and an additional loft in the same building.
She has also written extensively about the city in her music, most notably in “Welcome to New York,” which opened her 2014 album 1989.
Swift’s connection to New York extends beyond her music. She served as the city’s global welcome ambassador in 2014 and has spent years living in Tribeca, where she and Kelce have frequently been seen together.
The couple has been photographed in the city multiple times over the last two years, including dinners downtown and walks through Manhattan.
Kelce has previously spoken publicly about his affection for the city, saying he enjoys being able to “just kinda vibe around the city” and “walk the streets and feel the electricity.”
The reported July 3 date also lines up with one of Swift’s favorite times of year. The singer has long celebrated the Fourth of July with large gatherings of friends, first at her Rhode Island home and more recently in New York. This year’s holiday also coincides with the 250th anniversary of the formation of the United States.
The latest report comes just days after it was claimed that Swift and Kelce were planning to marry on June 13 in Rhode Island. Those earlier reports said the wedding would take place between Swift’s estate in Westerly and the nearby Ocean House, with roughly 150 guests expected to attend.
The June 13 date was also said to reflect Swift’s longtime attachment to the number 13 and to fit into Kelce’s offseason schedule.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed the July 3 wedding date.
