Victoria Beckham is speaking out about her family’s ongoing rift with Brooklyn Peltz Beckham.
Beckham was asked about her eldest son in an interview by WSJ Magazine but did not use his name.
“I think that we’ve always — we love our children so much,” she told the outlet.
“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” she continued. “And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”
Brooklyn accused his famous parents, Victoria and David Beckham, of trying to “ruin” his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, in a series of Instagram Stories in January.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” he wrote at the time.
Brooklyn and Nicola married in 2022, and he claimed, “My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”
He also alleged that Victoria canceled on making Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, leaving the bride scrambling for a new gown, and that she danced with him inappropriately at the wedding, as well as claiming both parents tried to bribe him into “signing away the rights” to his name before the wedding.
Brooklyn is the eldest of the Beckhams four children, which also include Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
