The NYPD is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in the Bronx.

The NYPD is investigating the death of a man who was found shot near his home in the Bronx on Thursday night.

According to police, at 10:25 p.m. on April 16, cops responded to a 911 call regarding an assault at 205 Alexander Ave. Upon their arrival, officers from the 40th Precinct found the victim, 78-year-old Edgar Spence, with a gunshot wound to his torso.

EMS rushed Spence, who lived less than a block away from the crime scene, to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
