NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy that occurred at a Queens park Thursday evening.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:15 p.m. at Roy Wilkins Park, in the vicinity of Merrick Boulevard and Baisley Boulevard.

Upon arrival, police discovered the teenager, identified as Jaden Pierre, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

EMS rushed Pierre to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, but he was later pronounced dead.

One teen told 1010 WINS it was a planned meetup that turned deadly.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
