Liz Johnson secured her second consecutive USBC Senior Queens title on Sunday,
winning the 2026 event in Las Vegas.
The Hall of Famer defeated Lynda Barnes in the championship match, winning
both games 277–258 and 255–244 at Sam’s Town Bowling Center.
With the victory, Johnson earned $8,000 and became the first repeat champion
at the USBC Senior Queens in ten years, joining Robin Romeo, Sandra Postma,
Lucy Sandelin, and Shirley Levens as multiple-time winners of the event.
Johnson, the No. 2 seed, advanced to the championship match after defeating
Kristin McEntee 265–216 in the semifinal.
In the final match against top seed Lynda Barnes, Johnson had to win twice to
secure the championship.
In the first title match, Johnson won a high-scoring game, 277–258. The final
game followed a similar pattern, with both players starting strong. In the
closing frames, Johnson was more consistent and struck more, finishing with a
255–244 win to secure the title.
The stepladder finals began with Rina Sabo defeating Jodi Woessner 212–201 in
the opening match. McEntee then eliminated Sabo 257–214 to advance to the
semifinal.
The 2026 USBC Senior Queens featured 86 competitors.
