Primark Brings Flagship Store to Manhattan
If you’ve ever made a special trip to go to one of Primark’s outer borough locations and wondered why there isn’t one in Manhattan, your wait will soon be over. The retailer is opening its first-ever Manhattan store in Herald Square on May 8th.
This isn’t Primark’s first store in New York; it’s actually their eleventh in the state, with locations already in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and New Jersey.
The new Herald Square flagship spans more than 54,000 square feet, which is roughly the size of a full city block, giving it the kind of room to stock everything from basics to the latest trends across women’s, men’s, and kids’ clothing and accessories.

It sits alongside the brand’s flagship stores in London, Milan, and Madrid, and the buzz is already building. You may remember that lines stretched around the block at their recent pop-up Primark Studio in NoHo, which shows a definite pent-up demand from Manhattan shoppers.
This is a landmark moment for Primark in the United States as we open our incredible new flagship at the epicenter of American fashion,” said Kevin Tulip, President of Primark US. “The excitement and buzz around the brand is already building across Manhattan – from busy stores in the surrounding boroughs, to lines stretching blocks at our pop-up Primark Studio in NoHo, we’re expecting strong demand from New Yorkers and tourists for the store. This is our biggest U.S. opportunity yet, and we can’t wait to open our doors and introduce this iconic city to Primark’s iconic style and prices on May 8th.”
Herald Square Is an Ideal Location
The location is perfect for working parenst and families on the go, directly across from Penn Station, easy to pop into before or after your commute, or on a weekend. With a brand new TJ Maxx in Herald Square, you can make a whole day of shopping for good deals.
The prices are so appealing. Women’s denim starts at $12, men’s tees at $5, and kids’ sweatshirts at $8. The brand likes to say you can outfit the whole family for under $50, which sounds like a stretch, especially in this economy, until you actually walk through one of their stores and realize it’s true.
Opening Day Festivities at Primark
For opening day, Primark is making a whole event of it. Doors open at 10 am, with a ribbon-cutting, music, and giveaways for the first people in line. Outside at Herald Square Plaza, there’s a free block party running 10:30 am to 6 pm, with DJ Luna Rósa spinning live, Joe’s Coffee serving lattes and pup cups, NYC sweet treats, photo ops, and branded pedi-cabs cruising around.
