2 individuals have been arrested after allegedly throwing a full beverage can at a New York State Police vehicle, while traveling on a state highway. Of all the good ideas in the world, this is not one of them.
On Friday April 17th at around 10:30p, according to a New York State Police press release, a Trooper was traveling on State Route 13 in Oneida County when all of a sudden, BAM! The marked patrol had been struck with an object coming from the direction of a passing vehicle.
As the Trooper, traveling southbound, was passing a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox, traveling northbound, a passenger from the Chevy threw a full aluminum beverage can from the rear driver-side window, striking the hood of the marked patrol vehicle and causing damage.
That’s when the Trooper threw the lights and sirens on and started a pursuit. The driver of the Chevy decided not to stop and fled, reaching 75 mph, in a 40 mph zone, through the Village of Camden. The vehicle eventually came to a stop.

Following an investigation, it was determined that the driver of the Chevy was an 18-year-old female from Rome, NY. The passenger was an 18-year-old male passenger from Taberg, NY. The passenger was determined to be responsible for throwing the can.
