NEW YORK (PIX11) — To start November, students will have a day off from school as New Yorkers head to the polls for Election Day.

New York City Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and reopen on Wednesday.

Additionally, elementary students will be dismissed three hours early on Thursday, Nov. 6, as parent-teacher conferences will be held in the afternoon and evening.

Parent-teacher conferences for middle schools and D75 will be held on Nov. 13.

Parent-teacher conferences for high schools, K-12, and 6-12 schools will be held on Nov. 20.

Students in the respective schools will also be released three hours early on those days.

The next school closing is slated for Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
