Brooklyn Yvonne Watkins Fullen, born November 6, 1939, to the late Lawrence “Dan” and Georgia Watkins, entered her heavenly home on Monday, April 20, 2026. She attended Douglas High School in Bristol, VA, where she received her diploma in 1958. Brooklyn gave her life to Christ while attending AME Zion Church in Meadowview, VA, where she became a member.
She was united in holy matrimony to James Edward Fullen on May 2, 1959. Their union was blessed with three sons and three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Brooklyn was preceded in death by her dear husband, James; one sister, Vivian Santona; one brother, PFC Lawrence Daniel “Danny” Watkins, U.S.M.C.; and siblings-in-law, Harry Fullen, Lawrence Mayo, and Brenda Fullen.
She is survived by her three sons, James (Regina) Fullen, Jeffrey (Amelia) Fullen, and Jonathan (Sheila Moody) Fullen; three grandchildren, Aaron Fullen, Alex Raykowitz, and Braylon Arnold; and siblings-in-law, Mattie Mayo, Jake (Shirley) Fullen, Jr., and Joyce (Warren) Lindsey. She is also survived by a special nephew, Lawrence Tambora Watkins; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Sandy Call.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Herbert Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, with Aaron Fullen, Kevin Lindsey, Richard Woodard, Gee Humphrey, David Bradley, Mike Fullen, and David Young serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George Fullen, Enis Fullen, Billy Fullen, Joe Bowers, Robert Beach, Bernard McGlothlin, Ralph Belcher, Randy Salyer, Kevin Claypool, Warren Lindsey, Jake Fullen, Marion “Moe” Smith, Stanley Webb, Sam Litton, and Gary Hammer.
