Forest Hills Comic Con will return on Sunday, May 31 from 10 AM to 3 PM at Forest Hills School. This year will be the ninth one, reminding Queens residents that while big conventions can also be a lot of fun, conventions closer to home offer unique community-based opportunities. Guests are encouraged to come and connect with both NYC locals and big names in entertainment. The convention is hosted by the Forest Hills High School Comic Book Club, certainly an impressive feat for high school students (or really anyone!).
There are several featured guests (Confirmed Special Guests) including Tony Daniels (voice actor in Sailor Moon, X-Men, and MANY other animation), John R. Dilworth (creator of Courage The Cowardly Dog), Toni Ann Gisondi (Molly from Annie), Apache Ramos (The Orphan from The Warriors), Rosanne Sorrentino (Pepper from Annie), and Thomas G. Waites (Fox from The Warriors).
Critical Care Comics will also have a booth, as a 501(c) non-profit that visits children in NY , Las Vegas, Charleston and St. George hospitals, giving them comics and toys. They also have a scholarship exclusive to childhood cancer survivors, with applications open now.
Additional comics, artists, and writers (Confirmed Guest Comic Artists and Writers) will have booths including Shawn Alleyne, James Avilia, Kyle Baker, Delfin Barral, Andrew Breen, JD Calderon, John Cebollero, Sean Chen, Evan Dorkin, Caitlin Du, Dave Fox, Geeknami, Michael Gerlich, Dan Gottlieb, Joshua Hixon, Brian Kong, Ken Landgraf, Jacqueline Lavin, Rodolfo Ledesma, Mike Lilly, Enrique Lopez, Henry Martinez, Niall O’Rourke, Henry T. Pardo, Bill Plympton, Psycho, Tommy Sakar, Freddy Santiago, Alex Segura, Seasoned Art, Chuck Suffel, Will Torres, and Peter Vazquez.

There will be a special presentation of “Indiana Jones And The Legend of The Inwood Caves” followed by Q&A session with actor, director, and writer John Galligan after each showing.
Fan film Batman: Gotham Underground will also premiere.
Past years have featured Liane Curtis (Randy from 16 Candles) and Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC).
Sponsors of this year’s Forest Hills Comic Con include Chipotle, Shake Shack, and Chick-fil-A, all within walking distance of the convention for hungry guests. FamousVisions.com is an additional sponsor.
