“I’m kinda shocked, I’m shocked, I’m kinda unhappy about it that that type of incident came to our block and our neighborhood,” Jimmie White, a neighbor, said.
According to the NYPD, the stabbing happened around 11 a.m. Thursday. They were called to a house on 229th Street in Laurelton after a verbal dispute involving a dog urinating on a neighbor’s lawn.

“It’s a tragedy, and it’s something that I’ve never seen or heard of on this block in the 40 years I’ve lived here. Normally neighbors talk to each other, help each other out,” White said.
NY1 obtained the surveillance video, which may be graphic for some viewers.
The video shows the suspect urinating and getting into a tussle with the two dog owners before police say he slashed them.
“It’s crazy, for me it’s something unbelievable, because of the dog? Why not, just talk, you know, explain, even if you have some emotions, try to just keep that to yourself, not using any force and stuff, it’s just horrible,” Feda Taheri, a contractor who was working on White’s house, told NY1.
According to police, a knife was recovered at the scene, and the suspect is in custody.
