QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — A report of gunshots prompted a lockdown at an East Valley school Tuesday morning, but officials have since lifted it.
Just before 7 a.m., police received a call from a concerned parent at Queen Creek High School reporting that they heard gunshots on campus, according to the Queen Creek Police Department.
First responders arrived at the school near Signal Butte and Ocotillo roads and searched for evidence of a shooting. Police say they have cleared the campus and found no evidence that shots were fired or that there was any threat.
The school briefly went into lockdown, and school buses were rerouted as a precaution. Those measures are now lifted.
