DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — AN 11-COUNT INDICTMENT was unsealed on Thursday in Brooklyn federal court, charging six men in a three-week carjacking and home invasion crime spree across Brooklyn and Queens, according to Joseph Nocella Jr., U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and Bryan DiGirolamo, Special Agent in Charge, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, New York Division.
“As alleged, these defendants used violence to threaten and intimidate, turning their victims’ everyday routines into terrifying ordeals,” Nocella said in a statement.
Between July 12, 2025, and Aug. 2, 2025, the defendants allegedly stole several BMW luxury vehicles, along with cash and other possessions, while armed, sometimes allegedly pistol-whipping or shooting their victims. They are also accused of entering residences with firearms and stealing cash.
Leny Cruz, Brandon Corona, Eddie Nunez, Jose Ramos, Savion Jones and Justin Kenny, residents of Brooklyn and Long Island aged 21-28, were variously charged with carjacking, attempted carjacking, Hobbs Act robbery conspiracy, being a felon in possession of ammunition and interstate transportation of stolen property.
