The NFL draft continued Friday with the second round in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Former Tennessee defensive back Colton Hood was selected by the Giants in the second round (No. 37 overall).
Hood appeared in 12 games for the Vols in 2025, totaling 50 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, one interception, nine pass deflections, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two touchdowns.
He transferred to Tennessee from Colorado. Hood played in seven games, including one start, during his only season at Colorado in 2024. He totaled 24 tackles, two interceptions and six pass deflections for the Buffaloes.
Hood transferred to Colorado from Auburn. He played for the Tigers in 2023 as a freshman. Hood appeared in four games and recorded three tackles against Maryland in the 2023 Music City Bowl.
He is from Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia.
