Authorities have confirmed that the two people on board a small airplane that crashed in Brooklyn Park on Saturday have been killed.

A small aircraft came down and caught fire in in Southbrook Park near 62nd Avenue North and Florida Avenue North, a short distance from Crystal Airport. .

“No individuals on the ground were injured, and no property on the ground was damaged as a result of the crash,” Brooklyn Park PD said.

“Unfortunately, the occupants of the airplane did not survive.”

The department says it is in contact with the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The NTSB has confirmed that the plane that crash was a Beech F33A, and that it has launched an investigation.
