WAPPINGERS FALL, N.Y. (KLTV) – Former Van Vandal Hoss Brewer picked up his first win of the season in the Brooklyn Cyclones’ 6-2 victory over the Hudson Valley Renegades on Sunday.
The right-hander has a 6.75 ERA in 6 2/3 innings this season.
Brewer entered the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with one out and a runner on first base. Brewer forced Core Jackson to ground into a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning. In the sixth inning, Brewer got Kyle West to ground out before hitting Eric Genther with a pitch. Brewer followed up by striking out Roderick Arias and getting Tyler Wilson to ground out to end the inning.
Brewer threw 15 pitches, including 10 for strikes.
Brooklyn (5-15) plays Frederick in a six-game series at home beginning Tuesday.
