Boy, 15, shot in chest during fight on rush hour subway train in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 15-year-old boy was shot and wounded on a busy A train in Queens during Monday’s evening rush, police said.

The teen was shot in the chest and critically injured just after 6 p.m. near the 80th Street station in Ozone Park.

Responding officers rushed him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized. No other injuries were reported.

The shooting happened during a fight aboard a crowded, Manhattan-bound train, sending riders ducking for cover.

“We all jumped to the floor and stayed below, and the door man opened the doors up, and some people ran out,” said a witness, Junior White.

Two teenage persons of interest were questioned Monday night and later released by the NYPD.

As many as three suspects were still being sought by police as of Tuesday.
