Ben Mann will get the opportunity to earn the long snapper job for the New York Giants.
The Manheim Township grad, who played at Boston College in 2025, signed an undrafted free agent deal with the NFC East combatants and, according to a report on Giants Wire, will battle Zach Triner for the starting job in camp.
According to the report, the Giants signed Mann to a guaranteed $10,000 deal; New York signed Triner to a 1-year, $1.2 million deal in March.
Triner has played in 85 NFL games over seven seasons. He was the long snapper with Tampa Bay when it won the Super Bowl following the 2020 season. He played on game last season with Washington.
Mann’s grandfather is Chuck Mercein, who was drafted by the Giants in 1965. Mercein went on to play for the Green Bay Packers and was the fullback under coach Vince Lombardi. Mercein played in the famous Ice Bowl game in 1967.
Mann played for three years at Yale before finishing his college career at Boston College. He snapped in all 12 games last fall and registered a trio of special teams tackles.
Former Manheim Central quarterback Evan Simon also signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Giants out of Temple, and New York’s new offensive coordinator is Matt Nagy, the former Manheim Central standout.
Warwick grad Nolan Rucci, an offensive tackle from Penn State, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts.
