Brand New Smorgasburg in Central Park
Starting May 14, Smorgasburg is setting up at the Columbus Circle entrance to Central Park at West 59th Street from Thursday through Saturday, noon to 8 pm, through September 19. It’s free to get in, and you only pay for whatever you eat.
There will be 25+ vendors, full lineup to be announced shortly. If you’ve been before, you know there is a mix of trendy spots that you recognize and look forward to, along with things that are just really tasty and maybe even unexpected.
Some of the best parts are the food combinations that you think might not work, but then realize they do. It’s basically a playground for those who enjoy trying new things.
Of course, kids typically like what they like, and there are plenty of basics that will appeal to children, mixed in with a lot of unique options. My picky eater surprised me one day by ordering a full meal at Smorgasburg, filled with new food, and she loved it all.

Central Park Location Is Key
One of the best things about this location is that it will have weekday hours, so it won’t just be a place reserved for the weekends. Weekday hours make it an option for snacks and meals between work, school, and camp.
Plus, since it’s right at the park entrance, you can grab your food, find a spot to sit down, and eat, or plan a full picnic.
Smorgasburg’s 16th season also includes Williamsburg, Prospect Park, and the World Trade Center with 70+ vendors across all locations.
