Citi Bike rider critical after being hit in Lower Manhattan: NYPD

LOWER MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Citi Bike rider is in critical condition after being hit by an SUV in Lower Manhattan early Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 5:41 a.m. at the intersection of Franklin Street and Church Street.

Police say the cyclist, a 24-year-old woman heading north on Church Street, was struck by a Nissan SUV traveling east on Franklin Street.

EMS transported the woman to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV, a 54-year-old man, remained on the scene. He and a 60-year-old passenger were not injured.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
