King says he was ‘impressed’ with Harlem nonprofit’s farm

During his visit to New York City on Wednesday, King Charles III visited a sustainability nonprofit in Harlem.

Harlem Grown teaches children how to grow nutritious food, with a focus on sustainability.

The king toured the farm, planted lavender and mustard greens, fed chickens and spoke with students.

NY1’s Cheryl Wills had an exclusive chance to speak with him.

“Amazing. Well, I’m very impressed. I really am,” the king told NY1.

Those who were at the event said it’s a moment they will not forget.

“Engage kids, community, hands-on education, sustainability, the land, and this is what we grow,” said Tony Hillery, the founder and CEO of Harlem Grown.
