Bronx Week — a celebration of the borough’s businesses and culture — officially kicked off Friday.

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson had said this year’s event would need to be canceled over financial concerns. However, the program was brought back after a rally of support by local business owners and community groups.

Gibson joined NY1 anchor Shannan Ferry on “News All Day” to discuss the lead-up to this year’s Bronx Week.

“We know Bronx Week has been around for over 50 years,” Gibson said. “It’s a legacy. It’s a tradition. We don’t want to see it not happen.”

Bronx Week runs until May 17. For more information, click here.
