DUMBO Drop 2026
This month, Dumbo is bringing back one of its most unusual and fun traditions! The Dumbo Drop is happening once again, where thousands of small toy elephants are dropped from rooftops and drift down onto Washington Street.
To get in, you need a ticket. Everyone age 2 and up needs one. Each ticket includes a toy elephant, access to the viewing area, and entry into a sweepstakes. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. for the first drop and 6 pm for the second. You have to book each drop separately.

Fun, Prizes, and Giveaways
While waiting for the big drop, the street itself turns into a full block party. There will be live music, a flash dance, kids’ crafts, LEGO setups, a photo booth, and food vendors serving small bites.
There are also giveaways tied to the event, including gym memberships, restaurant and design gift cards, hotel stays in Dumbo, and passes to local arts venues. You don’t have to be there to win.
All of it supports local public schools, including PS 307 Elementary and Dock Street Middle School. Each year, the parachutes are designed by a local artist, and this year’s design is by Christian Vera.

The fun takes place on Friday, May 29, 2026, and it happens twice that same evening, once at 5 pm and again at 7 pm, on the closed-off stretch of Washington Street between Front Street and Water Street. Tickets start at around $18.75.
