AUSTERLITZ — More than 8,000 customers of New York State Electric and Gas lost power in Columbia County on Tuesday.
Crews were working to restore service by 1 p.m. The outages occurred in the town of Austerlitz.
“There is an issue with a transmission line and our teams are on site and still assessing the situation,” a spokesman for the utility said.
The utility reported that more than half of the customers had service restored by 1:20 p.m.
