BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) — Police are investigating after two people were struck by a vehicle in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

Officers responded to 4819 18th Ave. around 6:30 p.m. for reports of two pedestrians struck.

When officers arrived, they found a 59-year-old man and an 84-year-old man who had been struck by a vehicle.

Police say it appeared that a 38-year-old man was driving a Ford Transit 250, traveling northbound on 18th Avenue, when he struck both men.

EMS responded and transported the victims to Maimonides Medical Center where the 84-year-old is in critical condition, and the 59-year-old is expected to survive.

The 38-year-old driver remained on scene and there were no arrests.

The investigation is ongoing.
