CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Former President Bill Clinton made an appearance in Brooklyn on Wednesday morning to support an addiction treatment facility.
Clinton was celebrating the groundbreaking of a 70-bed men’s treatment facility on Bergen Street. It’s an expansion of the existing Anchor House, a state-licensed operation that runs 12 to 18-month programs.
Clinton joined Anchor House leaders and the state’s Office of Addiction Services and Supports to announce the expansion.
The former president has New York City on the mind lately. On Tuesday, he shouted out the New York Knicks in his address at the Clinton School of Public Service in Arkansas.
“Whether you’re the [New York Knicks] or a new grad, practicing persistence and focusing on ‘the how’ will serve you well,” he said.
During his visit to Brooklyn, Clinton also appeared in a video with City Council Member Chi Ossé.
“Mr. President, can I get you to say ‘free Haiti’?” Ossé asks. Clinton responds, “Free Haiti’.
