RED HOOK AND SUNNYSIDE, QUEENS — A RED HOOK MAN WAS ARRESTED and charged with unlawful imprisonment and harassment Monday in connection with an incident at a Queens subway station two weeks earlier.
Arif Nour, a 23-year-old from Bay Street, was arrested on May 4 around 8:40 a.m. in the vicinity of the incident, which happened in the 46th Street-Bliss Street station within the 108th Precinct. Police had received a report that, around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, a man had approached a 23-year-old female victim and engaged her in conversation, near 46th Street and Queens Boulevard. When the victim tried to walk away, Nour allegedly restrained her and carried her into the subway station, then fled in an unknown direction. The victim did not report any injuries.
According to court records, the top charge is attempted kidnapping in the second degree.
