SOUNDVIEW, The Bronx (PIX11) — Police are on the hunt for a person accused of shooting a teen in the Bronx while his father was taking him to school, according to authorities.
The 14-year-old was getting into his father’s car near Seward and Rosedale Avenues just before 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday when a gunman approached and sprayed the vehicle with bullets, police say.

At least three bullets pierced the car, one of which struck the teen in the left leg, officials reported. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was expected to survive, according to police.
“I heard three shots and that’s when I started telling my little brother to get down,” said one resident in the area.
The bullets went flying in the midst of multiple families taking their kids to school on Wednesday morning, forcing them to duck for cover.
“It was heartbreaking, it’s sad cause there’s a lot of stuff going on in this world.”

The suspect was last seen running on Rosedale Avenue wearing a black sweater and a black t-shirt, authorities say. Police are still investigating whether the teen was the intended target.
