1. State budget deal stalls in Albany
Sources told Spectrum News 1 that Gov. Hochul and her staff were preparing Tuesday and Wednesday for a possible announcement Wednesday evening.
2. Diversion program helps upstate New York man rebuild his life
At a recent event marking the 10th anniversary of diversion efforts in Albany, officials highlighted early results they called promising. In one cohort, roughly 80% of participants secured permanent housing; about two-thirds were not rearrested within a year; and 80% were not reincarcerated within five years.
3. Settlement approved with DuPont in Hoosick Falls water contamination case
DuPont is expected to pay out the settlement within 75 days, or by July 13. Checks are expected to be sent out to residents who qualify for property damage payments in August.
