Despite a steady rain, nearly 300 Jackson Heights residents turned out on April 25 for Queens Community House’s (QCH) Spring Wellness Fair, a vibrant, intergenerational event focused on health, connection, and community.

The event was led by QCH’s Jackson Heights–based programs, including the Beacon Community Center at PS 149Q, Queens Center for Gay Seniors, and The Seven Family Enrichment Center. Together, these programs transformed the space into a welcoming hub where community members of all ages could access wellness activities, resources, and opportunities to connect.

Attendees participated in a variety of activities designed to promote both physical and mental well-being, including chair yoga, dance sessions, and interactive games such as Jenga and plinko. The event also featured hand massages, face painting, and other family-friendly offerings that encouraged participation across generations.

In addition to recreational activities, the Wellness Fair connected residents with local organizations and service providers who shared valuable information and resources to support healthy living at every stage of life.

“This event reflects what makes Jackson Heights so special—neighbors coming together, supporting one another, and building a healthier, more connected community,” said Ben Thomases, CEO of Queens Community House.

Building on this spirit of community, QCH is also preparing to take part in the upcoming Queens Pride March in Jackson Heights on June 7, where the Queens Center for Gay Seniors and Generation Q—two of QCH’s LGBTQ+ programs—will lead the QCH community in the march.
