MINEOLA, N.Y. (News 12 Long Island/CNN) – Two brothers in New York are graduating high school by landing in the school’s history books.
Meet John and Joseph Gomes. The two have been named the valedictorian and salutatorian of their class. They have become the first set of twins to achieve those honors in the school’s 96-year history.
The brothers said they found out after they finished their U.S. government AP exam on Tuesday.
They said they never competed with one another – instead, they were simply motivating each other.
John and Joseph will both be attending Brown University in the fall.
