A GoFundMe campaign has been established for the family of a Worcester man who was stabbed to death near Times Square in New York City.
Police were called to the scene of a stabbing on West 43rd Street on May 4 and found Leonidas Baez, a 39-year-old Worcester resident, suffering from knife wounds. Baez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Three men were seen running from the scene. No arrests have been announced.

Baez’s sister, Catalina Baez, started the GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $12,000. The funds would be used to bring Leonidas Baez’s remains back to Massachusetts, where he will be laid to rest next to his mother.
“Our family is trying to pick up the pieces and understand how this could happen, but we will never be able to fill the hole this has left in our hearts,” the page reads.
The fundraising page describes Baez as a loving father of two who loved to ride his bicycle. Baez once biked from Massachusetts to Florida and had dreams to pedal all the way to California.
