STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — FDNY crews responded to a reported shed fire Friday afternoon in Great Kills.
The blaze was reported in the vicinity of Shafter Avenue and Katan Avenue.
The call came in at approximately 3:20 p.m., prompting a sizable emergency response, according to an FDNY spokesperson.
A total of 21 FDNY units, staffed by 79 fire and EMS personnel, were dispatched to the scene, the FDNY said.
The fire was brought under control just 21 minutes later, at 3:41 p.m.
Charred lawn equipment could be seen on the sidewalk outside the Hungerford School location.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the FDNY.
