Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Monday that free ticket registration is now open for a large-scale 2026 World Cup viewing event on Long Island.
The “New York State United — 2026 World Cup Watch Experience” will take place June 12 at Stony Brook University.

Fans can watch Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina and USA vs. Paraguay during the event
The watch experience will also feature entertainment, interactive soccer activities and food vendors
In addition to live match screenings, the event will include interactive soccer experiences, entertainment and local food and beverage offerings.
“I am proud of our efforts to bring the World Cup — a truly global moment — directly into communities across New York State, which includes opening the ticket registration today for the New York State United 2026 World Cup Watch Experience on Long Island,” Hochul said in a statement.
“By creating free, family-friendly viewing events across New York, we’re making it easier for families, fans and communities to come together, celebrate the world’s game and create lasting memories — while continuing to invest in the future of youth soccer in the state,” she added.
The governor and Mayor Zohran Mamdani have also announced additional viewing events planned across the five boroughs.
A second public viewing event for the FIFA World Cup final is scheduled for July 19 at Kensico Dam Plaza in Westchester County.
State officials encouraged attendees traveling to the Long Island event to use public transit to access Stony Brook University.
