A battle continues to brew over short-term rentals in Fair Haven.
Residents have another chance Monday to weigh in on a proposed law affecting vacation rentals in the village. The new law would regulate short-term rentals such as Airbnb in the village, and require those owning short-term rentals to obtain a permit which includes a permit application fee.
The text of the local law says the regulation “protects the public health, safety, and welfare while also balancing the economic interests of property owners and businesses.” The text of the bill can be found here.
A public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Fair Haven Fire Department, at 14447 Short Cut Road.
