Multiple people injured in Bronx fire, FDNY says

Multiple people, including three children and three firefighters, were injured during a fire in the Bronx Monday afternoon, the FDNY said.

A call was made just before 3:40 p.m. to report a fire on the second floor at 2609 Bainbridge Ave., according to officials.

Three children were transported to area hospitals with critical injuries, according to the FDNY. Another person with serious was also transported to an area hospital, and another person with minor injuries refused medical attention, the FDNY said. Three firefighters who had minor injuries were also transported to area hospitals, according to the FDNY.

A cause for the fire is still under investigation.
