A Stamford man sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl and photographed the abuse, after driving the child from her Westchester County, N.Y., home to a site under Interstate 95 in Greenwich, federal authorities said.
Andrew Ford, 42, is charged with sexual exploitation of a child and transportation of a child for unlawful sexual activity, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Ford was known to the girl and her parents and had visited their home, the federal complaint says. The parents told a Port Chester, N.Y., detective in late December 2024 that Ford had engaged in sexual activity with the girl, the complaint says.
The girl’s father reviewed his phone bill and saw multiple calls and texts between his daughter and Ford, including one in which Ford labeled the girl a vulgar term for a prostitute, the complaint says. The girl told her mother that Ford “had been touching her underneath her clothes” and that she had engaged in sexual activity with him, the complaint says.
In subsequent interviews, the girl said she had “multiple sexual encounters” with Ford, whom she called “AJ,” the complaint says. The encounters took place at her home and in Ford’s car, the girl said, according to the complaint.
In December 2024, Ford picked up the girl at her home, telling her father that he was taking her to get candy, the complaint says. Ford drove to a spot under I-95 in the Byram section of Greenwich, where he sexually assaulted the girl, the complaint says.
Port Chester police arrested Ford in May 2025 on two counts of second-degree rape and seized two phones, federal authorities said. In text exchanges found on one phone, Ford asked the girl about different sexual activities, according to the federal complaint. In one message, he texted, “Will I be the 1st? Prob not,” and the girl replied, “Yeah you will,” the complaint says.
“If you end up wanting me to be that one then ok I accept,” Ford wrote, according to the complaint. “It’s about wanting that because you will remember that person forever.”
Ford told Port Chester police that he knew the girl, but never had any sexual contact with her, the federal complaint says. He did text the girl, but the messages were not sexual and if they appeared to be sexual, his number must have been “spoofed,” Ford told police, according to the federal complaint.
However, one of Ford’s phones contained photos showing the girl being sexually assaulted in a car, and other photos showed her face and exposed breasts, the complaint says.
Federal authorities arrested Ford Friday and he was detained after appearing before a U.S. magistrate in federal court in White Plains, according to a news release.
A conviction for sexual exploitation of a child carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. Transportation of a child for unlawful sexual activity carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney.
