COLONIE — Cow print is about to pay off.
The newest Chick-fil-A location officially opens Thursday at 579 Troy Schenectady Road in Latham, and guests who show up in cow-themed attire — from a full costume to a cow-spotted accessory — will receive a free entrée or kids’ meal as part of the grand opening celebration.
Cow-printed customers can choose from several free menu items throughout the day at Chick-fil-A. Breakfast options include a Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit, Egg White Grill or four-count Chick-n-Minis. Later in the day, customers can pick from a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, eight-count Grilled Nuggets or a five-count Nugget Kid’s Meal.
The promotion is available both inside the restaurant and through the drive-thru. The offer is limited to one free item per person wearing cow-themed attire, while supplies last, and no purchase is required.
The new restaurant, the third in the Capital Region, is owned by Jeremiah Mills Lamptey. Born in Ghana and raised in Virginia, Mills Lamptey’s history with the company dates back to high school. Company representatives said he spent years growing into leadership roles before being selected to operate the new Latham Farms location, which will employ about 120 associates.
“From the moment I arrived in Latham, I was immediately drawn to the unique mix of warmth and energy that defines this community,” said Mills Lamptey in a news release. “My hope is to bring that spirit to Chick-fil-A Latham Farms, creating a place where families gather, Team Members grow into confident leaders, and Guests experience our signature hospitality to the fullest extent.”
Opening day is also expected to bring heavy traffic to the area. Visitors are being asked to approach from the south on Troy Schenectady Road, continue through the Loudon Road roundabout, turn onto Erin Street and follow instructions from officers directing vehicles near the restaurant.
