THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A new affordable housing option in the Bronx has dozens of apartments with rents under $1,000, according to NYC Housing Connect. Rents begin at $465.
Peninsula 1221 and 1225 Spofford Avenue is the latest affordable housing development.
It will offer more than 300 affordable units and serve New York City households earning between $19,235 and $166,250.

Households of one to nine people are encouraged to apply, according to the listing.
“New York City is committed to the principle of inclusivity in all of its neighborhoods, including supporting New Yorkers to reside in neighborhoods of their choice, regardless of their neighborhood of origin and regardless of the neighborhood into which they want to move,” reads the NYC Housing Connect website.
This newly constructed residential building will offer studios and one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units. The units are expected to include amenities such as a gym, a recreation room, an outdoor terrace, and a dishwasher, according to the listing.
