THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — Authorities found around 300 pounds of marijuana while conducting a court-ordered eviction at a Bronx apartment on Tuesday, officials said.

The City Marshals discovered the illegal grow house in a first-floor apartment at 750 Pelham Parkway South at around 12:30 p.m., authorities said.

The five-room apartment was being used to grow illegal marijuana and had been renovated with special ventilation, irrigation, and lighting systems to grow the 299 cannabis plants found in the unit, officials said.

Approximately 300 pounds of illegal cannabis plants and 147 pounds of THC flowers were seized, as well as all the supporting equipment, according to the Department of Finance Sheriff’s Office.

“Illegal cannabis operations endanger the public safety and undermine legal establishments,” a DOF spokesperson said.

It was unclear if there were any arrests.
