A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for parts of New York City, including Brooklyn, Queens, and The Bronx, through 5:30 PM EDT on October 30, as 1 to 2 inches of heavy rain continues to drench the city. The National Weather Service warns that flooding of highways, streets, and low-lying areas is likely. Residents are urged not to drive or walk through flooded roads, and anyone in a basement should move to higher floors immediately.

Over 6.9 million people are currently under the warning.

Videos shared on social media show intense afternoon downpours flooding parts of the Big Apple, with water pooling on major roadways and intersections. A marginal risk (Level 1 of 4) for additional flooding remains in effect as storms continue moving through New York City.
