Residents, families, and staff of Margaret Tietz Rehabilitation & Nursing Center gathered for a heartfelt celebration on April 28, honoring two extraordinary women — Lizzie Jester, seated left, and Lina Kolic, seated right — on the occasion of their 100th birthdays.
The Recreation Department transformed the center’s Recreation Hall into a festive setting filled with pink and gold decorations, balloons, music, and birthday cheer as residents and guests came together to recognize the incredible milestone.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the presentation of an official New York State Assembly citation commemorating the lives and achievements of Kolic and Jester issued by Assemblyman Sam Berger and presented by Linda Spiegel, Margaret Tietz’s director of public affairs, center, in recognition of the centenarians’ contributions, resilience and remarkable life journeys.
The afternoon also featured live music by Issac Pleshtiyev.
