One is the queen of the red chairs, the other is the Queen, period. When Queen Latifah and Kelly Clarkson link up, you know the result is gonna be good. The actor-rapper and the pop singer will both be Coaches on Season 30 of The Voice, and they make such a dynamic duo, fellow Coaches Riley Green and Adam Levine better watch out.

The season is set to premiere on NBC in September 2026, and it’s shaping up to be quite a year for Latifah, who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in December. She has seven Grammy nominations and one win, an Oscar nomination, a Golden Globe win, an Emmy win, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And now she’s coming for that Voice trophy.

And the fans couldn’t be more excited. On an Instagram post announcing the Season 30 Coach lineup, one commented, “QUEEN LATIFAH IS A COACH HOW DO I AUDITION RIGHT NOW.” And while we simply cannot wait to see Ms. Latifah in her Coach element and show off her singing chops on The Voice, she and Clarkson have already proven they’re an unstoppable musical duo.

Kelly Clarkson and Queen Latifah had so much fun singing with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show

During a September 2018 visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Latifah and Clarkson couldn’t stop complimenting each other, basically ignoring Fallon, perhaps a preview of their dynamic during The Voice.

Latifah also showed off her cheeky sense of humor, praising Fallon’s nice microphones and subtly slipping hers into her top. Nothing like a little shoplifting to spice up a late night appearance. When Fallon had trouble getting the app they were using to create a doo-wop song together to work, Clarkson playfully roasted him: “Oh my god, you’re such a dad right now!”

Eventually, though, Fallon got the app to work, a simple “looping” program that the three used to layer their vocals to create an a cappella version of the doo-wop classic “Earth Angel” by The Penguins.

“Earth angel, earth angel. Will you be mine? My darling dear. Love you all the time,” Fallon sang, as Queen Latifah joined in delivering the lyrics, “I’m just a fool. A fool in love with you.”

Clarkson then sang the next verse, before all three harmonized together, singing once again: “I’m just a fool. A fool in love with you!”
